Early Morning Bloodbath

The title says it all, another crap day for the scalper and i am beginning to think the markets have eyes and ears - they knew i was coming today and decided to play havoc with my weekend plans...........

Had a trade short on the good old breakout, managed to move SL to B/E and it got hit, so still on +155 for the month.

I had 8 trades on the scalper, 6 losses and 2 wins, carnage is the only way to describe it. Luckily the last two trades i placed, hit both my targets, so made the total a little bit more respectable, but not much. Finished on -84 for the morning work, so this brings my total for the month down with a BANG!!!

My percentage increase for the month so far is +20.7% and this is all down to the breakout with it's great R/R of 5:1. Just need the scalper to find its feet again.

Result for the month so far:
Breakout = +155 - Total for the yr (starting from the 4th Jan): +125

Scalper = +16.2 (I missed some profitable trades early on in the month due to having to look after the little one, so for accurate results i need to add 50 pips to the total, but will keep it as it is as these are my actual results) - Total for the yr (starting from 1st Feb): +451

That's it for the day. Going to Birmingham this weekend to see one of my favourite DJ's play, so should be a good one. There's about 6 of us going out, so will have a sore head on Sunday i reckon.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Gave most of it back

Today was a little better for the scalper, started off with a near enough perfect trade short on EJ, which bagged me a nice and easy +62 pips, then got a bunch of other signals, some winners, some losers and actually ended up giving most of it back to the markets or as someone i trade with likes to say, 'loaning it to the markets'. Ended up +13 pips for the mornings work and it makes me think why didn't i stop at the EJ win. It's a difficult one and something i am toying with at the moment. I am looking at stopping early if in a decent profit, doesn't suit everyone, but i think may suit my trading style. I will do a lot more research on it first and may implement it into my trading plan.

My breakout was a no trade so still on +155 pips for the month, so happy with that.

Result for the month so far:
Breakout = +155 - Total for the yr (starting from the 4th Jan): +125

Scalper = +100.2 (I missed some profitable trades early on in the month due to having to look after the little one, so for accurate results i need to add 50 pips to the total, but will keep it as it is as these are my actual results) - Total for the yr (starting from 1st Feb): +535

That's me done, my Mum is having Tia today, so going to chill out for most of the day, may just catch up on some sleep. Good luck.

Poor Day

The scalper is having a poor few days and is def going through a rough patch, hopefully i will start seeing some decent results shortly. Today was another one of those trading days where i wish I'd of stayed in bed, a -15 on the breakout and a -49 on the scalper. These days you have to take on the chin and that's exactly what i'm going to do.

A few traders in my live trading room have started to trade the scalper and low and behold as soon as they did, it's taken a downturn. It's funny, but this occurs very often when a new strategy is introduced, i'm beginning to think that the markets are actually intelligent and know what's going on, or is that me being paranoid.....

Result for the month so far:
Breakout = +155 - Total for the yr (starting from the 4th Jan): +125
Scalper = +87.2 - Total for the yr (starting from 1st Feb): +522

Chelsea where knocked out of the Champions league last night, that's another blow for me as i had a bet on them to win it. So the middle of March is causing me a bit of grief, both in trading and footy betting, but aye, such is life.

I fly out to Thailand in 2 weeks to go house hunting for the big move end of this year and my little girls passport has been lost in the post, so have to go sort that now as well, GGGRRRR!!! Things can only get better aye.

Have a good day.

Scalper took a hit!!!

Good morning everyone, hope your trading is rocking on........

My breakout activated for a short, was looking good, then at 0745, it totally changed direction and started to shoot upwards. Wasn't too bothered by it though as had moved my SL to +20, so bagged them pips and moved on. Breakout is now on +170 for the month and with my original SL set at 15, i am confident i will have a profitable month.

The scalper is going through a rough-ish few days, but just got to take it on the chin. I like to compare my trading to a good footy team, you have great periods of the season, then usually a dodgy few games and then a good period again. As long as your up there at the end, it's all that matters. I'm going through that rough period of the month with the scalper, but still up near the top of the league!

Result for the month so far:
Breakout = +170 - Total for the yr (starting from the 4th Jan): +140
Scalper = +136.2 - Total for the yr (starting from 1st Feb): +571

That's me done again. Just want to thank those of you who read my blog, it's much appreciated. Happy pipping!!!!

Mixed Bag!

Another Monday is here and another low pip count for the scalper.

Friday started badly, but ended strongly and if you remember i had one trade still active on Friday, which eventually came in for me, so +20 pips to add to my figure from Friday's results.

Today was another dodgy start, but a decent enough finish, ended up in profit in the end, with a cracking +3 pips. WOW!!! But still a profit and adding it to my total for the month it is still looking strong.

The EMA was running through the box on my breakout so a no trade. That is still on a nice +150 pips for the month, so in a strong position there as well.

Result for the month so far:
Breakout = +150 - Total for the yr (starting from the 4th Jan): +120
Scalper = +177.2 - Total for the yr (starting from 1st Feb): +612

That's me done, a slow day, but that's trading for you. You can't rake in the pips everyday, but if your up overall at the end of the month, that's all that matters.

Have a good afternoon.................

Bad Start, Great Finish!

The title says it all today, a few dodgy set ups on the scalper then boom we hit a good run. Currently on -39, but with one EJ Long still active, hoping for it to hit 2nd target soon.

The old faithful bagged me another 75 pips today (get in!). That puts it on +150 for the month, i think we are back in business!!!

Result for the month so far:
Breakout = +150 - Total for the yr (starting from the 4th Jan): +120
Scalper = +154.2 - Total for the yr (starting from 1st Feb): +589.2
One trade still active, EJ long

That's me done, have a good afternoon.

Classic Breakout

Gooood morning!!!!!!

Another great morning and good enough for me to actually finish for the day at 0845, now that sounds good to me cheeko..... This time it wasn't the scalper believe it or not, it was my old faithful...... yep the BREAKOUT!!!!!! +75 on that one this morning, with what i can only describe as a "classic breakout" to the short side. A nice easy +75 was bagged, which was a surprise after the very slow start to the year.

The scalper threw up two great signals, one on EU and the other on EJ at 0630 to go short, which would have been the perfect set up, but due to me changing my start time to 0700, i missed them, but not to worry. After the great result on the breakout i have decided to finish early again (part timer i hear you all shout!).

A comment was made in my live trading room this morning in reply to me stating i was probably going to finish with a +75 in the bag: "good enough Shane, looks like some of us here are learning to take whats on the table." I think this is a very good point and something i will be looking at more closely. Sometimes i think i am prone to over trading, which can result in me turning a profitable day into a loser, so will be looking at possibly stopping if i bag a lot of pips early on. Watch this space............

Result for the month so far:
Breakout = +75 - Total for the yr (starting from the 4th Jan): +45
Scalper = +193.2 - Total for the yr (starting from 1st Feb): +626.2

That's me done again, off to the cinema to take advantage of Orange Wednesdays i reckon, have a good en...... Oh Man U and Milan tonight, should be a corker, but will be staying away from the Stella's - LOL!

Tuesday, 9 March 2010

Great Day!

Today was the morning of dreams.....

Had a cracking morning on the scalper, a nice +99 bagged in the space of a couple of hours, which enabled me to stop trading at 0930, so very happy with today. Both EU and EJ performed very well for me.

Had a short trade activated on my breakout, reached +25 as normal and then retraced and hit my SL at B/E, so it is still on B/E for the month. I will be trading this as normal throughout March with a view to tweaking it if needs be for the start of April, but it's on B/E so far, so nothing to get too concerned about just yet.

I must say after testing my scalping strategy through Jan and trading it properly at 2% of balance through Feb and March, it really does seem like a pretty solid strategy. It needs to stand the test of time though, so hopefully i will be reporting the same figures in 6 months time, but we will see. I have been here many times before, where a strategy has done fantastically for a few months, then it goes to pot, but i have a good feeling about this one (there i've gone and said it - lol!)

Result for the month so far:
Breakout = 0 - Total for the yr (starting from the 4th Jan): -30
Scalper = +193.2 - Total for the yr (starting from 1st Feb): +626.2

That's me done for the day, off training - adios!

Monday, 8 March 2010

Steady Start

Hi people a steady start to the week. Was down about -57 pips on the scalper at one point this morning, then two decent short trades on EU and EJ bagged me a few pips and i managed to scrape back into profit by +14 pips.

My breakout looked ok for a Long, but unfortunately it did what it's been doing a lot this year - hitting my entry level, hovering about the entry level, then dropping, so a -15 this morning on that one.

I made the right call not to trade NFP Fridays because if i would have traded Friday just gone i would have given about 120 pips back to the markets. This scalper is great, but like most strategies, it does not like rangy conditions. So for any newbies reading this, be aware of NFP Fridays (first Fri of the month) as the markets can do strange things - BEWARE!!!

Result for the month so far:
Breakout = 0 - Total for the yr (starting from the 4th Jan): -30
Scalper = +94.2 - Total for the yr (starting from 1st Feb): +527.2

That's me done folks, off food shopping - great!

Friday, 5 March 2010

Decent First Week!!!

A decent first weeks worth of trading and i do feel like i am starting to get into the groove a bit now after a slow start to the year, but that's trading for you. It's a bit of a roller-coaster, but just got to keep riding it!

Today was a no trade on my breakout as the EMA was running through the box, so stuck on +15 for the month trading it at 2% of cash balance.

I don't trade the scalper on NFP Fridays due to past experience, so i have ended up this week/month on +80.2 pips, which is a pretty decent result. Had a great start to the week, stealing +163 pips in one morning, but i did say not to count the chickens and it was a good call as i ended up having a few losing days in the middle of the week, which resulted in me giving a bit back. But anyway up overall and that's all that matters.

Result for the month so far:
Breakout = +15 - Total for the yr (starting from the 4th Jan): -15
Scalper = +80.2 - Total for the yr (starting from 1st Feb): +513.2

So up overall and happy with how things are progressing. If we are talking percentage increase, a steady +4.76%, so moving along nicely. I think i'll use my favourite trading word......................... CONTROLLED trading!!!

Anyway that's me done for the day, have a cracking weekend and i'll see you bright eyed and bushy tailed on Monday..............

Thursday, 4 March 2010

Slooowwwww Day..............

Another slow day today and pretty quiet in the Piptorius Live Trading room that i'm a member of, hope people are not deserting us - LOL!!!

My breakout was a no trade as the EMA was running through the box, so i am still on +15 for the month so far.

I placed 2 trades today on the scalper, the first was an EU short, which was a loss of 25 pips and the second is an EU Long that i'm still in, so hopefully this will at least make first target of 13683, so i can move SL to B/E for safe trade. Yesterday i had an EJ trade active and that also made a loss, so yesterday i gave -78 pips back to the markets, but still up for the month overall and that's all that matters.

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = +15 - Total for the yr (starting from the 4th Jan): -15
Scalper = +67.2 - Total for the yr (starting from 1st Feb): +500.2
1 trade still active on scalper - EU Long

As some of you will be aware i am demo trading 2 x EA's, both going pretty well. One is up 10% this month and the other is up about 2%, so will keep logging details of those.

Decent result for England in the footy last night, although the first half was poor, they played pretty well in the second. Is this our year......................

Anyway that's me done for the day, have a good one!

Wednesday, 3 March 2010

Not much going on!!!

Slow today, but after a great day yesterday, not too bothered to be honest.

My breakout was set up for a Long trade at 15068.4, but didn't activate on or before 0830GMT, so cancelled the pending order.

My scalper has been quiet all day, then at 1015 got a signal to go short on both EU and EJ, unfortunately EJ was a loser (-35.4) and still in the EU trade, so will wait and see what happens.

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = +15 - Total for the yr (starting from the 4th Jan): -15
Scalper = +127.6 - Total for the yr (starting from 1st Feb): +560.6
1 trade still active on scalper

That's it for me, come on England!!!

Tuesday, 2 March 2010

Great Start!!!

Oh yeah baby when you have days like this, it makes you want to SCREEAAAMMMMMMM!!!!! In a good way that is!

Yesterday i bagged a nice +15 on my London breakout, today was B/E, so i'm actually in profit for the first time this year on my breakout. Only +15, but it's a profit nonetheless.

Yesterday the scalper was B/E, but today in the space of 2 hours i have bagged +163 pips, so have decided to call it a day and take the dog for a walk.

If we are talking percentage increase, yesterday was a modest +1.95% and today is +5.6%, so very happy with how March has begun, but i do know from experience not to count the chickens just yet as we have bucket loads of days left and as we all know anything can happen.

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = +15 - Total for the yr (starting from the 4th Jan): -15
Scalper = +163 - Total for the yr (starting from 1st Feb): +596

Well that's me done for the day, going to sort some other business out, so happy trading and i'll see you all tomorrow.

Friday, 26 February 2010

End of a decent week

Didn't blog yesterday because ended up watching Inter v Chelsea the night before and decided to get drunk on Stella Artois, not a good choice of beers on a school night. Woke up yesterday with a headache from hell and feeling quite fuzzy. I actually decided to trade (bad mistake), ended up entering 2 trades on my scalper, which looking back i shouldn't have entered and losing -47 pips. So thought to myself, better stop for the day, so simply went back to bed......

LESSON LEARNT - NEVER TRADE WITH A HANGOVER OR DRINK STELLA!!!!

Today was a no trade on my breakout, so i can officially report, that this is its first losing month since i started trading it a year or so ago. The ADR is still pretty high, so will stick with +75 as my target and keep a close eye on it during March. Jan was B/E, this month -30.

The scalper made me a nice +40.5 pips today with 1 trade still active - EJ Long, it's already hit 1st target, so waiting for it to hit 2nd now - fingers crossed!

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = -36 (But on paper should be -30)
Scalper = +386 (with an EJ Long still active - actually should be +433 on paper but unfortunately i lost pips the other day because of the Stella head)

Percentage Increase = 16.9%.

So all in all a decent month and happy with both strategies, although my breakout may require a bit of tweaking here and there.

Have a great weekend and i'll see you all bright and early Monday for the start of a new month.

Wednesday, 24 February 2010

Quiet Day....

Hi guys, a little quiet for me today on both strategies.

Woke up very early to set up my breakout and it turned out to be a no trade because the EMA (Exponential Moving Average) was running through the box. So 2 days left to trade this month and it's currently on -15, i do hope i get a lucky win to put this strategy into profit - my fingers are crossed!!!

My scalper had a stormer yesterday (+86 pips), so deserved a quiet one. Started off this morning with a nice +30 pips in the bag, but after a few dodgy trades, it's now on -4.2, with an EJ short still active, which isn't looking too rosy.

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = -21 (But on paper should be -15)
Scalper = +392.50 (with an EJ short still active)

I am demo trading 2 robots, 1 of them hasn't had a trade yet and the other is showing a drawdown.I will keep running them to see how they go, but not looking great at the moment.

Ok that's me done for the day, off to do a bit of kick boxing, then getting my jabs sorted out for my trip to Thailand in 4 weeks - woop, woop.

Don't forget, Inter Milan V Chelsea tonight, i have a bet on Chelsea to win the Champions league full stop, so i'll be hoping they can get a decent result but it's going to be difficult.

Have a fun afternoon.

Tuesday, 23 February 2010

Brilliant Morning!!!

Had a cracking morning, my breakout activated for a Long trade, shot up, hit +25, so moved SL to B/E and unfortunately it retraced and hit it, so nothing gained and nothing lost there. Still -15 on that one for the month, with 3 trading days left to go.

Made a cracking +86.8 pips on my scalper this morning. EU - +32.7 & EJ - +54.1. Made this very early on this morning, and for the past hour and half i have had no signals, but that's fine after the great early morning trades. Yesterday if you remember i had a Long trade open on EU and that hit first target (+16.4 pips), but didn't make it to second target, but happy with that.

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = -21 (But on paper should be -15)
Scalper = +396.70

So a great mornings work and ready for tomorrow now - BRING IT ON MARKETS!!!

Monday, 22 February 2010

Not a great start to the week!!!

Hi guys hope you all had a cracking weekend, i literally did nothing, yep, absolutely nothing - it was great!!!

Ok onto trading... No trade for my breakout, had it all set up for a Long trade, but it hadn't activated by 0830 GMT, so cancelled it. This month so far it's on -15, with 4 days left to trade, bearing in mind this hasn't had a losing month since i started trading it a good year or so ago - could this be its first, we will see.....

My scalper hasn't done much today, i'm currently on -16.8, but i have an EU Long still active. First target is 13619, second target is 13633, so we will see what happens here. My SL is at 13588, so works out at about 18.4 pips, so if this losers it will be a bad day at the office (-53.6 - you x SL by 2 because of double position size), if it wins and reaches both targets it will put me on +25.2, so happy days - fingers crossed hey!!!

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = -21 (But on paper should be -15)
Scalper = +293.50 (with 1 trade still active - EU Long)

I am testing 2 Robots at the moment, both looking pretty good, so after a few months worth of testing and a lot more research i may be adding them to my portfolio..... maybe......

That's me done, good luck with the rest of the day, cya.

Friday, 19 February 2010

Another week has gone by and a pretty decent week for both strategies. My breakout came to life a little, bagging a winner (at last)and my new scalping strategy is doing pretty good as well, so maybe the tides are turning for me - hope so.

My breakout activated today, but lasted all of 10 mins and hit my SL at -15 pips, so a loser there, but for the month, after yesterdays win, on paper it is -15, so not too bad considering my target per trade is +75.

My scalper is doing ok today, made a few trades, but because the EJ and EU are in a bit of a range, it's made it a little difficult to make any decent profits, so happy with a small loss. EU = +19.6 & EJ = -28.8 (but with 1 trade still running). So total today, minus the 1 trade still active is -9.2..... My second target on the EJ trade is 12420.

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = -21 (But on paper should be -15)
Scalper = +310.3 (with 1 trade still active - EJ Long)

If we are talking percentage increase, overall this week i am up +14.25%.

A lot of interesting stuff going on in my live trading room, so things are looking very positive for me at the moment. I am hopefully going to be looking at joining FX500 Club, probably back end of March and also demo trading a few robots (EA's) on Dukoscopy platform.

Well that's it from me, have a cracking weekend - more rugby to watch.

Thursday, 18 February 2010

We have a breakout winner -sort of.....

My breakout activated today for a short, reached +25, so moved my SL to B/E. At this point i thought it was going to retrace like it normally does, but hey, it didn't, it actually stalled for a while and then shot down. It got to +60, so moved my SL to +15, it then started to bounce around the 15577 mark, so after watching it mess about for a while i decided to exit the trade with a nice +69, so just 6 pips short of a full house. Now if i would have left it, i would actually still be in it with my SL at 15630.6 (+15), so lets wait and see if it makes the full +75.

The Scalper did ok today, EU = +39.1 and EJ = -32.2 (but with a trade still running). Yesterday i had a couple of trades open, combined it finished on +1.9 pips, WOW!!!

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = -6 (But lets see on paper if a full house comes in or a +15)
Scalper = +319.5 (with 1 trade still active - EJ Long)

So today was a pretty decent day and happy that my breakout found its feet a bit, but will be even happier if it actually meets the full target - we will see.

Good luck to you afternoon traders - Adios!!!

Wednesday, 17 February 2010

Breakout, oh Breakout............

GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Yep, yep, yep, my breakout activated, hit +25, then retraced and hit my SL at B/E. I'm beginning to sound like a broken record. Nothing else to discuss about this, but read an interesting article yesterday that may interest you breakout traders. See below:

"The markets have been extremely difficult to trade over the last 2 weeks in particluar, because of the negative correlation across most currency pairs imposed by problems in the European Union (Greece debt problems). For example, GBPUSD and EURUSD enjoyed a correlation factor of .88 for the last 2 years. The last weeks it was at 0.01! So GBPUSD and EURUSD moves together 88% of the time until the Greece problem hit! I am sure you know that the best breakouts occur when the currency pairs are moving together. This is not happening freely anymore"

My scalper is going pretty well, today I have EU = +42.8 and EJ = -14.5, but currently in another Short trade from 12427, 1st target is 12409 and the 2nd target is 12391, so fingers crossed i can get a result here, but it seems to want to go up at the minute???

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = -75
Scalper = +317.6 (with 1 trade still active)

That's it for today - come on EJ you toad!!!

Tuesday, 16 February 2010

Breakout - Nooooo!!!!

Hi guys, please can someone tell my breakout to sort itself out. Another trade today, and another loser, so -75 for the month. Only had 5 losers in a row once before, so this isn't looking too rosy.

Started off well on my scalping strategy this morning, but then had a few dodgy signals that brought my profits down a little, but nothing too disturbing. I am very confident about this strategy and as soon as i know when it's going on sale, ill let you know. Today EU was -26.4 and EJ was +15.6, so this brings the monthly total to +279.3, so still comfortably ahead.

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = -75
Scalper = +279.3

Anyway i'm off to take the dog out - happy trading and good luck.

Monday, 15 February 2010

Tumble Weed....

Well what a great weekend of rugby, especially the Wales V Scotland game, what a cracker that was! Thought Scotland deserved something from the game, but fair play to Wales, played till the end and got the result.

Today was a no trade on my breakout strategy, so still stuck on the -60 mark.

After a slow start this morning, I finally placed a Long trade on EU, which bagged me a nice and easy +15 pips, unfortunately it didn't hit my second target, but stopped out at B/E. Just come in on an EJ short from 12251, 1st target is 12238, 2nd target is 12225 and SL is at 12265(14 pips). This trade is still running, so will update my blog tomorrow with the result from this, but looking ok at the minute.

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = -60
Scalper = +290.1(with 1 trade still active)

That's it folks, short, but sweet.

Happy trading.

Friday, 12 February 2010

Breakout - Stalemate!!!

Well after having a full week of no trades on my breakout, it finally activated Long today and again hit +25, so moved my SL to B/E and what did it go and do...... retraced and hit it AGAIN.................... Nothing more to be said about that one, GGRRR!!!

My new scalper had a decent morning, EU = +45.1 & EJ = B/E, so that puts it on +275.1 for the month and that's working 0600 till 1200 GMT everyday.

Not going to mention my percentage increase/decrease this month because i have stopped trading Ichimoku and my new strategy is using small stakes, so everything is a little skewed, will start again beginning of March.

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = -60
Scalper = +275.1

Have a cracking weekend guys, some good footy and rugby to be watched.

Thursday, 11 February 2010

STOP PRESS!!!

I didn't update my blog yesterday due to me having to re-think my trading plan (again, i here you say), yes again unfortunately... Beginning of the year i was able to trade basically all day, however due to some personal stuff (nothing too concerning) i am now only able to trade till 1200hrs full stop. Now your probably thinking that's what he used to do anyway and you would be right, but the problem with Ichimoku is that you have to let trades run throughout the day sometimes and if i'm not around to check them, then i'm a little buggered!!! When your trading with your large account this can become worrying. So again Mr Scully has had to change his trading plan/style. I will now still trade my breakout, but Ichimoku is now being put on the back burner and i am now trading a very simple, but effective scalping strategy i have been testing for someone with great success. I cannot disclose the strategy to anyone just yet, but will start recording results on here.

So i now trade breakout on Cable and my new scalping strategy on EU and EJ, 0600 till 1200hrs. This month already the scalping strategy is on +230, so going very well indeed. Today i made EU = +8.3 & EJ = +65.5, this is with an average SL of about 20 pips, never exceeding 30.

So again another change to my plan and for any newbies reading this, DO NOT follow my lead and change half way through a month, as it's not the way to go, but for me it's a necessity unfortunately.

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = -60
Scalper = +230
Ichimoku = Would have been on about +45ish for the month, but stopped trading as of today.

Ok guys, thanks for reading and this time i will be sticking to this 100%...... promise.........

Happy trading......

Moving Along Nicely

My favourite word for the month is "Controlled", and that's exactly how my trading is going at the moment. My Ichi trading is going very well by only going for what i think are the high probability trades. I'm now beginning to feel like a trader in the sense that i'm making my own trading decisions, based on technical indicators, rather than following a strategy blindly, so happy with my progression. This is not saying that following a system is not the way to go, it's just that i feel more comfortable with my trading, doing it this way.

No trade on my breakout this morning unfortunately, but at least no loss....

The Ichi EG trade i entered on Fri made me a nice +27 pips, so that worked out well for me. I entered another EG trade Long today from 8784.9, with my SL now at 8790, so pips bagged there again whatever happens, but will follow the KS for exit later on. Also just entered a GU trade short from 15574.9, with SL at 15620. Nearly missed that one because i was waiting for the news to finish at 1030, then realised i was on Wednesdays news, not today's, what a CLOWN i hear you shout - LOL! Just got in the trade at the right time, all down to Dave from my chat room - cheers mate!!!

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = -60
Ichimoku = +71.4 (With an EG Long active, currently on +25 pips & GU short, currently about B/E)

So not bad at all, just the 1 win on my breakout, puts me in a great position for the month, just got to keep the faith....

Fresh Week

Hope you all had a good weekend.

Some great rugby to watch yesterday and some cracking football kept me pretty busy throughout the weekend.

Had another frustrating morning with my breakout. It activated, went to about +40ish pips, so moved my SL to B/E and it decided to retrace and hit it, so B/E for me today on that one.

Placed another great trade on EG Long on Fri afternoon using Ichimoku. I usually stop trading around 1200ish, but this trade took my fancy, so i waited for it to break 8735, which it did around 1630ish, so entered Long at 8741. My original SL was at 8705, so about 36 pips. It is now about +53 pips in profit and my SL is now at 8765, so whatever happens, pips will be bagged. I'm going to stick with it and wait for it to cross the KS. Nothing takes my fancy today, but i must say i am liking this controlled way of trading, it sure suits my trading style.

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = -60
Ichimoku = +44.4 (With an EG Long active, currently on +53 pips)

So a decent start to the week and a profitable day whatever happens to this EG trade.

See you tomorrow.

Breakout is p#ssing me off!!!

Sorry for the rude title, but it really is starting to "BLEEP" me off now. Again it activated and hit my SL, all within 10 mins or so. Just checked through my past results and noticed that NFP Fridays are not good for my breakout strategy, so no more Breakouts on these days for me.

Had a cracking trade yesterday on UCAD, thought it was looking a little dodgy at one point, but after a while it did what i original thought it was going to do when i entered the trade and shot up. So a nice +81.3 pips taken from the markets.

So although my breakout is messing me about again, i'm confident with my Ichi trading and have made a profit with this strategy this week, just need to sort out my breakout now.

Due to different SL sizes on my Ichi trades, the amount of pips actually mean nothing, it's the percentage increase/decrease that counts, so below are the details:

Percentage Increase/Decrease:
Breakout = -11.5%
Ichi = +3.3%
Total for the Month = -8.2%

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = -60
Ichimoku = +44.4

So another week goes by, hope you all did ok and i'll see you Mon.

Thursday, 4 February 2010

GRRRRRR!!!

Hmmmm, once again my breakout hit the SL by 0.5 pips and then went onto win, this is now getting very frustrating, but hey got to keep them emotions in check - ARRGGGHHHHHHH!!!! No, keep them in check......

Quiet again on the Ichi front, placed one trade Long on UCAD from 10638.7, with my SL at 10600. This trade is not looking great, but still in it... just.... The UCHF trade i was in from yesterday closed out with a small profit of +12, so reasonably happy with that.

I have changed my comments section below, so that anyone can now leave comments without having to be a member of Google, etc, etc. If you would like to comment, you can now Just click on the comments link below and select either Name/URL or Anonymous.

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = -45
Ichimoku = -36.9 (With 1 trade still active on UCAD currently @ -10)

That's it for today, here's hoping tomorrow is better (for me anyway).

Frustrating Breakout!!!

Well again my breakout tried its best, but the news at 0930 let me down. Unfortunately we had a spike to the downside, which meant it hit my SL at B/E. Anyway least it's not a loss hey, so that makes it 3 trades, 2 losses & 1 B/E.

Quiet again with my Ichi trading, but i did mention in one of my previous posts that i will be trying my best to catch what i think are high probability trades, so i'm just waiting to pounce! Although i did enter a UCHF Short trade today from 10547, with my original SL at 10565 (SL = 18). I have now moved this to 10535, so +12 pips bagged whatever happens, but hoping to let it run and will close when the market closes back above the KS. Wish me luck....

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = -30
Ichimoku = -48.9 (With 1 trade still active @ +35)

So not a bad start to the month, but then again not great. From now on i will update you with my percentage increase/loss at the end of each week. This was mentioned in the live trading room i am a member of and i think it's a good idea to report on this weekly from now on.

Adios and happy trading!!!

Annoying Cable!!!

Another frustrating day on Cable yesterday. My breakout activated Short and again it took all of 40 seconds for it to hit my SL of 15, so -30 for the month - 2 trades, 2 losses.

I was searching for some decent Ichi trades yesterday and none stood out for me, however i did take GU short, once it broke free from the Kumo, but it messed about for a few hours then decided to go Long, so a loss of 50 pips there. This trade wasn't a perfect set up, but took some other factors into account and went for it, wish i hadn't.

My breakout has activated again today. It's Long from 16020.8, but the good thing about this is that i have moved my SL to B/E, so free trade today. I will next move my SL to +15 if it reaches 16080 and my final target of +75 is 16095.8.

No Ichi trades yet, but it's still early days.

So for the month so far i am 8% down.

Results for the month so far:
Breakout = -30 (with 1 trade active @ +15)
Ichimoku = -48.9

PUSH THAT CABLE UP FOR ME PLEASE GUYS!!!

Start of a new month!!!

It's the start of a new month and i'm hoping this month will show a higher return on my initial investment. Made +4% last month, but that isn't going to make me rich, however some positives definitely came out of last month and i look forward to moving forwards.

I have been doing some serious thinking over the weekend and have decided to strip down my strategies or should i say strip down the amount of strategies i trade. I have definitely been over trading and have realised that to make cash in this game it's not about trying to trade every single strategy and take as many trades as you possibly can, it's about probabilities and ensuring you try and catch the good trades, i.e. the ones with a high probability of them coming in. So from now on i will be trading just the one breakout strategy and that is my S2 strategy on Cable (SL 15, PT 75) and i will be trading Ichimoku across 10 pairs and that is it. So no more S1, S3 and Dax for me, i'm going to concentrate my efforts solely on these two strategies. My breakout strategy was extremely profitable last year, so there is no need to trade any other breakout if this is bringing in profits and because i am only trading the one now if it needs tweaking i have the time to do this. Ichimoku is traded across 10 pairs, so need to concentrate on this quite a bit and stripping back my trading plan allows me to do this. I will only be taking the quality trades on this now as before i was taking nearly every single trade that crossed the Kumo clouds, so you sometimes had a run of losers to contend with, but now i will only be taking the high probability trades that are more or less going with the trend. This should eliminate a lot of losers and make it much more controlled.

So today going with my new plan, S2 was -15, unfortunately i was a little unlucky again, it hit my SL by 2 pips and has gone onto to win, but hey it happens. No trades took my fancy on Ichimoku, so break even there.

Results below:

Breakout = -15
Ichimoku = 0

I am now trading breakout at 3% and Ichimoku at 2%. Breakout is traded at 3% because it has been traded live all of last year and brought in great profits, plus sometimes you don't even trade, so small amount of trades per month. Ichimoku is at 2% because i have back tested and live tested this and i think i can make this work if i concentrate and only take the high probability trades. I said i was going to test for another month, but i'm going to go for it.

Hope those of you who read this have got off to a good start. See you tomorrow.

Weekend

Well guys, not blogged for a couple of days due to testing a few strategies out and family stuff, so not had chance unfortunately.

It's been a tricky month for my breakout strategies and i'm glad the month is over and we can move onto Feb. I know a few fellow traders who have lost a lot of their cash balance this month, some as much as 30%, so i'm happy with my results taking everything into account.

I have a Long trade active on S1, but at the moment, ignoring this trade i am on -50, so hopefully if i win this trade i will be on -10, which is near enough B/E. S2 finished B/E for the month, so again happy with that considering. The great thing about S2 is the fact that i had 5 losers early on in the month and just the 1 win brought me back into the game - great ratio. S3 has had a bad week for me, however still up for the month if trading just the 1 trade from 0700hrs GMT. Trading this way would have bagged me +145 pips, so this is the way to go for me from the start of Feb - 1 trade from 0700hrs GMT only.

Dax has done poorly this month, finished about -180, so will be monitoring this in Feb and not trading it.

Now onto the positive stuff this month. Ichimoku for me has done great, managed to finish on +759 in the end, so a little below past months, but still great nonetheless. This is a strategy i use 0600 to 1200 GMT across 10 pairs. I love using Ichi indicators as in my experience so far (which is not a lot i must admit) they seem very reliable and accurate, so i will keep testing in Feb and start live in March. Although i say testing, i am still trading with real cash as i think that is the only way to go when testing, it's so difficult to get a feel for a method just paper trading in my opinion. I have been trading this strategy using just 0.5% of my balance, all the others at 2%.

So next month i will be trading S1, S2 and S3, all at 2% and Ichimoku at 0.5%, with a view to trading it live beginning of March at 2%.

So for the month i am up 4% rounded up. This is not taking into account the 1 trade still active on S1.

My results are below for the month so far:
S1 = -50 - with 1 trade still running
S2 = 0
S3 = -25 - This strategy if traded just the 1 trade after 0700hrs would be up +145.
Dax = -48 (If traded today it would be on -180)
Ichi - +759

So guys i hope you had an ok month, if you managed to keep disciplined throughout this month, then i think you have done pretty well.

Onto Feb now - Let the pips roll in!!!

Slow Day

Hi guys, hope you all had a cracking weekend.

Quick one today from me as have a few bits and bobs to do. OK today, +30 on S1, on a bit of a role at the moment with this strategy after a dodgy start, B/E now for the month with 4 days left to go. No trade on my S2 strategy today because it didn't activate before 0900hrs GMT and my S3 strategy made a -25, so not so bad.

Down again on my Dax strategy, 3 trades, 2 losses, 1 win.

My results are below for the month so far:
S1 = 0
S2 = 0
S3 = -15 - This strategy if traded just the 1 trade after 0700hrs would be up +220.
Dax = -48 (If traded today it would be on -130)

Sorry quick one today, see you all tomorrow.

It's The Weekend Baby!!!

So yet again another week is over and i do feel that the markets are beginning to liven up again. I made some decent gains this week and look forward to the final week where i hope i can turn this topsy turvy month in my favour.

My S1 strategy made me another +30, so this strategy seems to be finding its feet now. Must have had a little too much drink over the Xmas hols. No trade on my S2 strategy today as EMA was running through my box. S3 was a dodgy one this morning, should have entered a trade short, however it was right on the news, so decided not to, however sods law if i would have traded it mechanically and entered i would be up +40, so food for thought. If you have decided to trade a strategy 100% mechanically do it, don't trade some days mechanically, then other days bring other factors into play, i.e. news announcements, etc, etc, because you know exactly what will happen - STICK TO YOU PLAN - Something i need to keep telling myself!

Didn't trade Dax again, however 2 trades would have been made, first one another -15 and the second one B/E. This strategy is just not performing this month, so will monitor it for now and hopefully bring it back into play again soon.

Ichimoku is still massively up for the month, but had a bad day yesterday and todays trades are looking a little dodgy to say the least. Lost about 140 pips yesterday. Placed 6 trades today on GU, UCAD, AU, NU, EG and EJ. I will report back on this Monday afternoon. But for the month so far i am up about +700 pips on Ichimoku, so very happy with its performance again and i will be looking at trading it with serious cash probably beginning of March after another month of testing - want to get this just right.

My results are below for the month so far:
S1 = -30
S2 = 0
S3 = +10 - This strategy if traded just the 1 trade after 0700hrs would be up +245.
Dax = -48 (If traded today it would be on -108)

Well guys and gals, have a cracking weekend and ill touch base with you on Monday afternoon.

Adios Amigos.

Thursday, 21 January 2010

There She Blows!!!!

Remember yesterday i was saying that i was waiting for all 3 breakouts to come in, guess what, they all did today, hahahahahaha!!!

S1 bagged me an easy +30, S2 bagged me +75 and S3 bagged me +40. Excellent results and again this goes to show that if you are trading a strategy that has a proven record/results and the month isn't going to plan, you must keep trading it because if you stop, sods law it will come in for you.

Haven't traded the Dax today because happy with my morning results and didn't want to jinx it, due to the Dax not performing for me at present. I know that sort of goes against what i have just said above, however i have made very good profit this morning and i'm not a greedy person. However luckily if i would have traded, i would be down 45 pips, so will need to keep an eye on this because it isn't going too well at all.

Been trading Ichimoku though because very, very confident with this strategy at the moment. Came out of my EG trade this morning, from yesterday, with +37 pips and have made 6 trades today. AU -33, EJ -38, EJ -19. However in 3 live trades, AJ -20 pips at the moment, EG +30 at the moment and AU +30 at the moment, so hopefully i can turn these into a profit later on today. My Ichimoku trading is now on +763 for the month, with 3 trades still running.

My results are below for the month so far:
S1 = -60
S2 = 0
S3 = +10 - This strategy if traded just the 1 trade after 0700hrs would be up +205.
Dax = -48 (If traded today it would be on -93)

That's it guys and gals, hopefully i can pull a few more mornings like today out of the bag, got to keep that discipline though.

Positive Vibes From Ichimoku

Hi guys, well again a slow breakout morning. I'm waiting for all 3 strategies to make a profit for me on the same day, but they just don't want to do that for me at the moment.

Received another punch to the ribs, with a -40 on S1, that's -90 for the month. Need a few wins on the bounce now to bring me back into profit as i am running out of time. I have traded this strategy for over a year and have had 1 losing month in that time, is this the second, maybe. Made B/E on S2, went to +25, then retraced and hit SL at B/E, GRRR!!! Good result on S3, a nice +40, so happy with that.

Made 2 Dax trades as i write this, another -15 on the first trade and the second was B/E, so not great again. Come on Dax, sort yourself out!!!

My results are below for the month so far:
S1 = -90
S2 = -75
S3 = -30 - This strategy if traded just the 1 trade after 0700hrs would be up +165.
Dax = -48

The most exciting thing for me is how my Ichimoku 15min testing is going. All of my trades yesterday made a profit. I entered an EG Long today, which hit my SL, so -21, in another EG Short, which is looking ok and in UJ short, which is also looking pretty decent.

Results are below for the trades i exited last night....
UJ = +36
EJ = +17
EU = +94
GU = +57
UCHF = +80
UCAD = +42
AU = +15
NU = +10
EG = -21 this morning
Total for the month = +840

In 2 trades, UJ Short and EG Short.

I am very confident about my new strategy and i am looking forward to another months worth of testing, then will trade it live with proper cash from March onwards.

That's me done guys. Good luck with the rest of your day.

Still Testing Me!!!

Guys another trying morning for me on my BO strategies, just isn't playing ball, but still got days left yet to pull it back, i have faith. -40 on S1, bad spike due to the news caused the Cable to rise sharply and hit my SL, then shoot back down and hit my profit target.... again. -15 on S2 again, that's -75 for the month now. My target is +75, so still just 1 trade brings me back into the game and i still have faith. I have had months last year where i got 4 or 5 losses, then the winners came out to play, so still happy with this. S3 was B/E and good job i moved SL to B/E at +25 or else the news spike would have taken me out. Must thank Max Parry (fellow trader) for the advice - Cheers.

Dax is still messing about around B/E for the month, the trade that was still active yesterday made -15 unfortunately. Had 2 trades this morning, 1 made -15, the other is still active, so will update tomorrow on that one.

My results are below for the month so far:
S1 = -50
S2 = -75
S3 = -70 - This strategy if traded just the 1 trade after 0700hrs would be up +125.
Dax = -18, but with 1 trade still running

My Ichi testing is going extremely well and i do feel that now i have an exit strategy in place i can make this work. See active trades below, all with an average SL of 20ish pips.

AU = +43
EJ = +51
UCHF = +85
UCAD = +30
EU = +92
UJ = +16
GU = +23

Now i know that last time i had good results like this and i let the trades slip away from me, but now i know when to exit, so all should (he says) make a decent profit, but we will see.

I have a positive thinking short film that i thought was very interesting. It's not a boring positive thinking programme like you can sometimes get, it's called the secret and i think it could help fellow traders out quite a bit if you give it chance. It's about one and half hours long, so if you are interested in it, email me at shanescully26@googlemail.com and i will forward you a copy.

That's it guys, cya tomorrow.

Get In!!!!

Here we are, a start of a new week of trading. I was hoping it was going to get better and my God it has.... a little, but better nonetheless.

My S1 bagged a nice +30 this morning, still in my S2 trade, with the SL to B/E, so happy with that, fingers crossed it can make it to 1.6401.4, that would be a nice +75, but as i write this, it seems to be running out of steam a bit, but we will see. My S3 made me a nice +40, so all in all a great start, if this S2 comes in, then a perfect start.

Made 2 trades on the Dax, the first was a winner, +12.7, the second is still running, so will update that one tomorrow.

So today was a good start to the second half of Jan, after a pretty slow first 2 weeks. I am hoping now that holidays are definitely well and truly over and the snow has gone, volumes will pick up and the markets will start to play ball again.

My results are below for the month so far:
S1 = -10
S2 = -60, but with 1 trade still running
S3 = -70 - This strategy if traded just the 1 trade after 0700hrs would be up +125.
Dax = +12, but with 1 trade still running

That's it folks, take it easy.

Friday, 15 January 2010

Stop it!!!

Please GU stop this now, sort yourself out and stop being a toad!!!

Again S1 hit my SL by 1 measly pip and then went on to make a profit, GRRRR!!! So -40 AGAIN!!! S2 was a no trade for me and S3 made me another -24 and again S3 hit my stop by 1 bloody pip, can you believe it. It is simply being one of those weeks/months. To be stopped out by a pip and for both trades to then hit my profit target is so annoying, however sometimes it goes the other way and just misses by a couple of pips and goes your way - swings and roundabouts hey. What am i going to do..... absolutely nothing, going to take it on the chin and keep trading my strategies.

The Dax was slightly better today, 3 trades, 1 win, 1 loss, 1 b/e. The win was a reasonable +29.3 and the loss was a -15, so up 14.3 pips this morning.

My results are below for the month so far:
S1 = -50
S2 = -60
S3 = -110 - This strategy if traded just the 1 trade after 0700hrs would be up +85.
Dax = -13.7

I am quite excited about my Ichimoku testing. My results are fantastic on the 15min charts as i now have exact entry and exit points and it's oh so simple. A little teaser below for you:

UJ - 3 wins, 1 loss - +113
EJ - 1 win - +46
EU - 4 wins, 1 loss - +128
GU - 3 wins, 2 losses, 1 B/E - +50
UCHF - 3 wins - +73
UCAD - 2 loss, 1 B/E - -44
AU - 1 win, 1 loss, 1 B/E - -33
EG - 2 wins - +101
NU - 2 wins, 1 loss - +114
AJ - 2 wins - +73

Look real sexy at the moment. These are results from the 4th Jan to now.

That's your lot folks, another week over and i'm glad i have 2 days of not trading. Come on markets, sort yourself out please, especially Cable in the morning. Have a cracking weekend.

January Blues

Awful, awful, awful is the best way to describe January for me. Again nothing performed for me today and i am left with yet another draw down on the old account, oh well, again we take it on the chin and move on. I trade in a live trading room and it seems January is proving to be a sticky patch for a lot of traders. This is where your emotions come into play, need to keep them Demons away - keep the faith, the trades will come, there's a random distribution of wins and losses, the good trades are on the way.....

S1 gave me a -30 today as the Cable has been stuck in a range for most of the day. S2, yet another -15 and S3, another -25, so not a great morning.

The Dax strategy didn't perform again, 2 trades made, 1 loss and 1 B/E.

My results are below for the month so far:
S1 = -10
S2 = -60
S3 = -85
Dax = -28

As you can see not a great month, but you can have weeks like this, maybe the next 2 weeks will be better or it may just be a losing month, but again it is how you deal with them that counts.

On to tomorrow now.............

Wednesday, 13 January 2010

Snails Pace!

Another slow day for me, what a weird couple of weeks for my strategies, just can't seem to pull away, but hey it will come......

S1 was annoying for me this morning, there was a spike on Cable at 0800hrs on 15 min charts, which took me out of my trade by 2 pips, then it decided to hit my profit target, great! The S2 activated, went 25 pips, so moved my SL, then the spike at 0800hrs took me out of the trade and low and behold, it hit my profit target of 75 pips, so this is starting to get a bit frustrating, but some you win, some you lose. S3 was a no trade for me today as the Cable has been trending Long all morning, so nothing was activated for S3.

My Dax strategy did ok, managed to get a +19.5 from a Long trade and in another as i write this, which is currently at B/E. The trade that was active yesterday made -15, so as we stand, minus the active trade i am currently on +2 (woop, woop!).

Starts like this have made me realise that you have to simply take it on the chin and keep trading your systems if they are proven to work of course. A year or so ago i would have panicked and stopped trading and probably done a bit of system hopping, not anymore, got to keep that discipline at all times.

There are some interesting developments on Ichimoku, which i will share once i have carried out further research, but looks very encouraging.

My results are below for the month so far:
S1 = +30
S2 = -45
S3 = -60
Dax = +2 - But with 1 trade still running.

So another slow morning, but the good trades are just around the corner baby.

Tuesday, 12 January 2010

Frustrating As Hell!!!!

Today was frustrating for me, just can't seem to pull away from 0 pips at the moment, with the exception of S1. Had a bad day on breakout, S1 was -40, S2 was -15 and S3 was -25. The Cable was very rangy this morning and i think whichever strategy you were trading this morning i think it was very difficult to make cash, but well done if you did, you certainly know something i don't.

My Dax strategy has had another frustrating day, with 3 trades being taken, all of them i moved my SL to B/E at +10 and all decided to retrace and hit it, although if i wouldn't have moved the stop i would have been -45 for the day because they all went on to hit my original SL of 15, so positive stuff there. I have learnt that it is so important to manage your trades once in them and today was a perfect example of that. I know a fellow trader who moves his SL to B/E once his trades achieve 66% profit, good little strategy in my opinion. I have currently 1 trade still running, so will update you with that tomorrow.

The Ichi trade i was in made me another loss of -58.8, so again another good reason to stop and put together a checklist for entry and exit points.

My results are below for the month so far:
S1 = +70
S2 = -45
S3 = -60
Dax = -2.5 - But with 1 trade still running.

So again today was frustrating, seems the first couple of weeks in Jan are proving to be a bit difficult, but good times are just around the corner. This is trading for you, got to take the crappy times with the good times. Still one good day will bring me back in line.

For now, adios...

Keeping It Simple

Hope you all had a cracking weekend, i relaxed this weekend, spent time with my little girl and went for a nice Sunday lunch, so feeling refreshed and ready to take on the markets.

Reasonable start to the week, my S1 made me yet another +30, so that is +120 for the month so far, very pleased with that. S2 activated, went to +31, so moved my SL to B/E, however the market retraced and hit my SL, so BE there. However if i would have kept my SL at 15 i would have bagged my profit target of +75, so have made a note of that on my spreadsheet and will monitor accordingly. S3 was also B/E today after another good start, then it retraced and hit my SL. So not a bad morning, up +30 on breakout.

The Dax trade i was in on Fri, eventually made me a nice +32 and i have entered 2 this morning, 1 i closed for +6 (WOW!!!) and the other made -15, so not great, but not the end of the world.

I have decided to put Ichi on hold as i have changed my trade times and would like to put in place more mechanical entry and exit levels., To risk 2% of my cash balance on this without these levels in place is a little silly, so will report back when i have come up with something concrete. However the EG Short trade i was in stopped out for a loss of -55.9 and still in the GJ trade, which is currently on +85.

My results are below for the month so far:
S1 = +120
S2 = -30
S3 = -35
Dax = -2.5
Ichi = -394.7, but with 1 trade on GJ still running at +85:
GBP/JPY = +85

So guys that is me done for the day, finishing now at 12.30 to have more free time to myself, plus getting a bit of a headache staring at charts all day. So another slowish day, but i am confident this is going to be a good week.

What A Day

Well, well, well what a weird week and a not so brilliant end to it either trading wise. I am hoping that next week is a lot better as volumes pick up and the weather gets better... hopefully.

My S1 is doing me proud with yet again another +30 to be had, that puts me on a nice +80 for the week, so very happy with its performance so far in 2010. No trade again on S2, so still sat at -30 and S3 decided to take 25 pips from me, so for the month it's on -35.

Dax is slow again, made 1 Long trade which was -15 and just come in on another as i write this, which is currently on +40ish, will update you with this on Mon.

Now Ichimoku, not great must admit, my UJ and EJ trade both taken out by the CAD news earlier today, awful spike which made them hit their SL's, luckily my UJ trade was at B/E anyway, but lost 102 pips on my EJ. My GU trade was taken out by the US news, so -49 on that one and my UCAD and GCHF trades where also stopped out, but with a profit, UCAD, +68, GCHF, +20. I am still in the GJ trade from yesterday and entered a EG trade today, both negative, so Ichimoku is not working for me as i would like, however it's a learning curve with this one and i reckon with a bit more practice the big trades will come.

Still it's important to stay disciplined at all times, however i do often think to myself why do i trade till 1500hrs everyday, when i could trade 3 good BO strategies with slightly bigger risk and just trade an hour in the mornings and make just as much profit or thereabouts. Hmmm will keep you posted....

My results are below for the month so far:
S1 = +80
S2 = -30
S3 = -35
Dax = -22.5, but with 1 trade still running, currently on +40 pips
Ichi = -338.8, but with 2 trades still running:
GBP/JPY = B/E
EUR/GBP = B/E

Have a great weekend guys, lets hope next week is a better one if your week wasn't so good.

Getting There, Slowly But Surely

So today i placed 6 trades altogether, 1 on S1, placed the trade on Cable at 0745hrs (Short), which finally reached my PT of 30 pips at 1300hrs. Lesson there was to stay disciplined and focused and keep faith in the system as i was thinking of taking my profit early after the Cable was messing about at 15900 level, but decided to stay in and glad i did. So total is now +50 for the week/month - very happy! No trades today on both S2 and S3.

Placed 4 trades on the Dax today, 2 B/E and 2 losers, so -30 today. Not so good, but hey that is trading for you, just got to take it on the chin.

Ichimoku is rocking for me now at last with 5 trades active on GU, UJ, EJ, UCAD & GCHF, all in profit and i have moved my SL accordingly to lower my risk further. Just going to simply follow S Span B and keep an eye on my KS and TS cross overs. Currently watching GJ, as may enter that in the next hour or so if the PA pulls away from S Span B.

So this week, although very slow, i'm enjoying it as i feel i am beginning to understand Ichimoku a lot more and hopefully as time goes on i should be able to pull off some pretty decent trades i reckon.

My results are below for the month so far:
S1 = +50
S2 = -30
S3 = -10
Dax = -7.5
Ichi = -347.20, but with 4 trades still running:
USDCAD = +115
GBP/CHF = +77
GBPUSD = +76
USD/JPY = +60

Busy, Busy

Well today was def a game of two half's for me after a not so good start to the morning, then an afternoon of ups and downs. Just can't seem to pull away at the moment, but i am sure it will pick up, plus we are only 3 days in - patience in a virtue and all that....

S1 made me +30 again today, so very happy with that, it's now on +20 for the month, with 2 winners and a loser. S2 lost again today, so a -15, that puts it on -30 for the month, but not concerned as the profit target is +75. S3 made -25, so for the month that now stands at -10, so not brilliant, but not a disaster by any stretch of the imagination, just a slow start that's all.

The Dax was slow for me today, with only 2 trades being made, 1 this morning, which made B/E and the other in the afternoon, which bagged me a nice +31, so very pleased with that. However this little baby can fetch me over 100 pips on just 1 trade, so being patient with this, but know it is on its way.

Ichimoku is a bit up and down for me at the moment. Placed 3 trades today, 1 on EUR/USD, 1 on USD/CHF and 1 on USD/JPY. Unfortunately EU lost again, that's 2 losers this week for this pair. USD/CHF also lost, so not fantastic there, however still in 4 trades, 2 winning, both on +130 and the other 2 are about B/E.

So a slow start, but positive stuff today, just takes 1 blistering day to get me into profit and it will come i can feel it in my loins. I have learnt over the past year or so that discipline, good money management and keeping your emotions in check is key to becoming a successful trader, try to enjoy yourself, it's one of the best jobs in the world in my opinion.

My results are below for the month so far:
S1 = +20
S2 = -30
S3 = -10
Dax = +22.5
Ichi = -347.20, but with 4 trades still running:
USDCAD = +130
GBP/CHF = +130
GBPUSD = B/E
USD/JPY = B/E

See you all tomorrow, cheers.

What a Difference A Day Makes...

What a difference a day makes. Today was a much better day for me, with a nice +70 on Cable to start with. This was made on S1 (+30) and S3 (+40) and there was no trade on S2 today as the indicators didn't line up for me.

On the Dax I've made +18.3 pips, with one trade still running as i write this, so a reasonably good day trading that as well, but there is def more to come using that strategy for sure.

On Ichimoku today i have three active trades, one on USD/CAD from yesterday, which is currently sat at +70, another on GBP/CHF which is at B/E and i placed another on Cable a couple of hours ago, which is at about -50. So just going to manage these for the next few days and see where we end up, hopefully in profit, but we will see.

So a better day today and just proves that trading is a funny old game and your emotions can change from day to day, i guess it is how you handle them that counts.

My results are below for the month so far:
S1 = -10
S2 = -15
S3 = +15
Dax = -8.7
Ichi = -73.8, but with 3 trades still running

Have a great evening and i will see you all tomorrow, adios!

2010 Here We Go!!!

Here we are in 2010, start of a new decade. I'm feeling good about this year and reckon it's going to be my year (counting my chickens already, lol!) Hope you all had a cracking Xmas and a great New Year, back to the grind as they say...

So i sat at my desk today, eager for the days events, thinking to myself this is going to be a good start to 2010, how wrong was i. My breakout strategy 1, made a loss of -40, after a false breakout occurred on Cable. Breakout strategy 2 again on Cable activated and went to +20 pips and then retraced and hit my SL of -15. The annoying thing is, is that i move my SL to B/E at +25, so 5 more pips and that would have saved me a loss, but anyway. Strategy 3 on Cable again made a loss of -25 as well, so all in all a pretty crappy morning.

I thought, mmm, this afternoon could only get better and it did..... a little. Placed 3 trades on the Dax strategy, 1 MASSIVE win of wait for it.....3 pips (wey hey), 1 B/E and 1 loss of -15, so not too bad, but not brilliant. I placed 2 trades on Ichimoku, 1 loss on EU of -73.8 and still in another on USDCAD, which is currently hovering around the +50 pips mark, so looking ok.

So not a great start to 2010, but that's sods law for you.

My results are below
S1 = -40
S2 = -15
S3 = -25
Dax = -12
Ichi = -73.8, but with 1 trade still running on +50ish pips

Well things can only get better and because i am trading with cash i can afford to lose and trading each strategy at 2% of cash balance, I'm not too concerned, although today, i must admit was crappy, which means it can only get better, can't it - LOL!!!

Thanks to all of you that have taken a look at my new blog and the ones who have signed up to follow it, it's much appreciated.

Anyway onto tomorrow now as that is another unique trading day.

Have a great evening, see you all tomorrow.
